RESEO and Opera Europa are looking for projects that promote diversity, cultural rights, and more within the arts as well as productions aimed at young audiences. Your work could shape a future European report! Find out how to take part below.
In preparation for the Opera Europa Spring 2024 conference in Vienna, Austria, Opera Europa and RESEO are developing an overview of participatory work and young audience productions piloted by operas, orchestras and dance companies. RESEO and Opera Europa call for scientific reports focussing on projects carried out within cultural institutions, projects that have already taken place or will take place before February 2024.
PARTICIPATORY PROJECTS
A particular focus will be given to projects that bring social issues to light, such as:
- Inclusion and accessibility
- Special needs and disability
- Cultural capability of communities
- Cultural rights
- Health/ Wellbeing/Mental Health
- Climate change
- Aging society
- Migration
- Digitalisation
Case studies can also address work carried out with arts and culture professionals, focusing on themes such as:
- Upskilling for artists engaging in participatory projects
- Diversity of cultural project management
- Diversity of professional artists
YOUNG AUDIENCE PRODUCTIONS
We are seeking productions aimed at young audiences, and more generally productions that tend not to be included in mainstream programming.
METHODOLOGY
Projects and productions should have been carried out/staged, or scheduled to take place, within cultural institutions before February 2024.
Formats can include protocols, surveys, project reports, anthropological analysis, filmed ethnography, podcasts or visual writing.
RESEO’s scientific and expert committee will select the projects to be presented during Opera Europa’s Spring Conference and publish a larger selection within a European report. This report will be based on resources from the network, a literature review including reference, a repertory of existing initiatives as well a series of qualitative interviews with pioneers, various stakeholders of the sector, as well as representatives from European Commission.Please fill out the form above or contact research@reseo.org with the subject line “Research project 2024”.
